About the project

How it works

A moderated, evidence-led experiment in how AI can explore public questions and proposals.

Step 1

Quality public evidence

The Chancellor draws on configured sources of publicly available information and statistics, so its analysis can use relevant, quality data.

Step 2

Curated questions

Questions are moderated and curated before they are included in the Chancellor’s analysis and the public conversation.

Step 3

Open-weight analysis

The Chancellor is powered by an open-weight model that considers curated and unresolved open questions, reviews existing proposals and, when useful, generates new proposals alongside the configured evidence.

Step 4

Ideas to explore

The resulting analysis and proposals are presented as ideas to explore, with the supporting evidence kept visible for readers.

An experiment in AI and governance

AI Chancellor is an experimental project made for exploration and fun. Its purpose is to see how LLMs and AI might help with governance, public questions and data analysis. It does not speak for government, and its outputs are not official policy or real-world decisions.
